How To Plan For Landscape Accent Lighting

The next step is to install the lights. Where to put them is really up to you. The fun part of this is to get creative with your landscape lighting ideas. First, determine what features you would like to accent. Sidewalks and walk ways are a great starting point. Lighting up these areas provides a cheerful way to make the front of your home a bright sight for guests as the approach your front door. But what about hard to reach places? Solar lighting is great for these areas. Solar Landscape Lighting uses energy from the sun to charge up during and come on at night. Timers not needed!

Another consideration would be using a spotlight to bring focus to a particular feature in the landscaping. This is a great way to guide the eye to a certain part of the yard that deserves a little extra attention. However, be careful not to place these lights in areas where they may shine into a neighbor’s windows as they’re very bright. Spotlights are also a way to play with light and shadow. You can create some unique designs much different from your overall daytime look using this type of landscape lighting. Keep in mind though; Spotlights and other more powerful lights need to be connected to a power source. Be sure to place your spotlights in areas where the cables they need to be attached to won’t be a nuisance.

Improving the safety of your home, along with enhancing your yard is something else to incorporate into your landscape light ideas. When you light up sidewalks and walkways you lesson the chance of an accident. You can use accent lighting to brighten up dark corners of your yard. This will lower the potential of a home invasion and discourage unwanted guests from the yard.

Adding landscape lighting and solar landscape lighting to your yard is a great way to really make your home stand out. You will be the envy of the neighborhood while providing a safer home and accenting your beautiful landscape!
